It's Bid Day!

And, the bids are in!

14 contractors vied for the Cook Park construction job, and the lowest bid went to A.J. Maggio Company of Mount Prospect. Maggio's bid was below budget, which is great news for us! The family-owned business has building libraries and municipal buildings in the Chicagoland area for over 60 years. They have a reputation for building libraries, and have successfully built the Green Hills, Fox Lake, Glenwood-Lynood, Homewood-Flossmoor, Palos Park and LaGrange libraries.

The Library Board will meet Tuesday to award a contract to the lowest responsible bidder.

Moving Out
Now that we have the bids, we have a much better idea of when it will be cost-effective to move out. The newest schedule has closing the Cook Park Library on Friday, June 19. The main library will be closed for approximately one year during construction.

After we close on Friday, ComputerView will move the computer servers to the new facility. The rest of the weekend will be spent moving equipment. Because the computers will be offline, Evergreen will be closed on Saturday, June 20. Both Evergreen and the new TLC will open on Monday, June 22.
