Moving FAQs

WHAT TYPE OF BUILDING IS THE NEW SUPPORT CENTER? The new Support Center at 801 Technology Way is a modern office and warehouse building. There is approximately 4,000 square feet of office space and approximately 21,000 square feet of warehouse space. It’s all on a single level. There is a loading dock and a separate garage door that will allow the bookmobile to be parked in the warehouse. The office space does include a staff lounge that will be equipped very similar to what we have now. We will also be bringing the picnic tables so that staff can take their breaks outside on nice days.
IS THE BUILDING AIR CONDITIONED? The office is air-conditioned. The warehouse is not but we were told that it remains fairly cool in the summer. The collection will be housed in the warehouse. Most staff members will be working in the office space.
ARE THERE INDIVIDUAL OFFICES WITHIN THE SPACE? There are 3 individual offices within the office portion of the building, one of which will be the server/conference room. The other 2 offices will be shared. It will be a fairly tight fit so we will have to maximize our use of the space. My office will be in the warehouse.
WHO GOES WHERE? We are currently working on a preliminary layout of this space and will make this available to staff when it is ready. Remember that this is a preliminary layout. We will more than likely make adjustments before and after we move into the space.
WHAT IS THE SCHEDULE FOR THE MOVE? Attached is the current schedule but keep in mind that everything is subject to change.
WILL WE GET TO SEE THE SUPPORT CENTER BEFORE WE ACTUALLY MOVE? Yes. We will provide tours after May 15 so that you can see the space and get a feel for what to expect. We are currently working on a schedule for the tours and will let you know.
